Final AV-8B Harrier Demo 2026 MCAS Cherry Point Air Show (Sunday)

The McDonnell Douglas/Boeing AV-8B Harrier II+ performs its final demonstration for the public at the 2026 MCAS Cherry Point Air Show. Recorded on Sunday, May 10. I know this probably feels like Deja Vu. In 2024, MCAS Cherry Point announced that the Harrier Demonstration at the 2024 show would be the final demo. Since then, its retirement schedule changed, allowing for one final demonstration to take place. I have updated the title of the video I posted in 2024 to reflect that change. Sorry to anyone who made the trip in 2024 to see the "last" Demo only for that to happen. The demonstration in 2024 was flown by the VMA-231 Ace of Spades prior to their deactivation in 2025. They have since reactivated as VMFA-231 and now operate the F-35B Lightning II. The only remaining AV-8B squadron in the USMC is the VMA-223 Bulldogs. This, the final public Level III demo, was flown in their beautiful color bird, which has a special paint scheme paying tribute to their squadron's history. in June of 2026, the Bulldogs will conduct a sundown ceremony for the AV-8B Harrier at MCAS Cherry Point before they too are deactivated and transition to the F-35B. Enjoy!
