The WCs at Great Central Railway 2019: Rothley Station (Ladies)

The Ladies: Consists of two cubicles, one is currently out of use, but has a 1950s / 1960s Shires overflow coming out, this one has an original "Improved Lion Washdown Closet" An early 20th Century George Howson & Co Stoneware WC that was made for Baxendale & Co Ltd, Manchester. And the cistern is a 1930s Enamelled Fireclay replacement that is fittingly named "The high level", was made by Adamsez & uses a Japkap style syphon. Outside the toilets; there is a 1960s Royal Doulton washbasin. Compared to Quorn, It literally feels like you're lost in time in here. What a superb WC. The height of the cistern means the syphon can't properly start up right away. I tried an unsuccessful double pull attempt. Consisting of a slow pull to flush a bit of water through, and then a quick yank. Once flushing, the fulcrum stays down. However, the next two flushes came out better. Superb refill too.
