4 Big Mistakes I Made Walking 50+ Miles to San Francisco from San Jose

Four days walking from San Jose to San Francisco. Not the freeway. Not Caltrain. I followed El Camino Real and a series of side roads north through Silicon Valley — Milpitas, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Redwood City, San Mateo, Pacifica — tracing a corridor most of us experience through a windshield. Much of the route runs along El Camino Real. But there are stretches of coastline, forested paths, and long industrial sidewalks where the scale shifts and the road feels different at three miles per hour. This was one of the early Bay walks. A way to see what sits between two cities we think we already know. PATREON Most of my films are not monetized. I use licensed music because it shapes the tone of each walk. If you’d like to support future long-distance routes, I share extended footage, maps, and route notes here:   / stepnoutthruhikes   POINTS OF INTEREST #1:[El Camino Real - History] https://grandboulevard.net/about/hist... #2 [Stagecoach Hold Up] https://www.hmdb.org/m.asp?m=126865 #3 [Sawyer Camp] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sawyer_... #4 [Nike Missile Site] https://www.nps.gov/goga/miri.htm EASTER EGGS 1.
