Staying in a Beautiful Moroccan RIAD! | + Hidden Tranquility in Marrakech's Le Jardin Secret

Come and relax with us in a beautiful Moroccan riad and secret garden! We venture into Le Jardin Secret - an oasis hidden within the medina, and the oldest garden in Marrakech. The gardens are full of lavendar flowers, lemon trees, palms and cacti. The only sounds are the chirping birds and water fountains, and it's hard to believe that the hustle and bustle of the souks are just beyond the walls. The garden features Morocco's famous green mineral tiling, with mosaic detailing in the pavillion and gateways. The hand-painted details even give off an East Asian vibe, which adds to the overall tranquility. A beautiful spot to unwind! Next, we make the spontaneous decision (very reminiscent of our Koza Cave incident in Cappadocia) to book ourselves into a boutique riad for the night. Continuing the theme of tranquility, the riad is also a spa. Riads are traditional Moroccan houses, which have many stories of rooms surrounding an open space at the bottom with a beautiful pool or garden bathed in light. At the Ksar Kasba & Spa, we were also lucky enough to have the terrace rooftop to ourselves with medina and mosque views. It's safe to say we were feeling very happy and blessed after these experiences! We are really getting a taste for the beauty and diversity of Morocco.
