American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) Video Competition Second Place Winner: ACVS Board Certified Veterinary Surgeon, Dr. Laurie Goodrich, DVM, MS, PhD, DACVS. After a dog attack, Shine, a miniature horse was left with a mangled hoof and an infection. Dr. Goodrich, an ACVS board certified veterinary surgeon at Colorado State University, successfully amputated the lower-hind leg and replaced it with a prosthesis. After surgery and rehab, Shine can walk almost as well an uninjured horse.
