Let's go on a road trip through Canada! In this video, we take you along Canada's east coast by car. Now that we have Togo in the family, one of our new traditions is to take road trips and visit places we haven't yet explored in our country. Last year, we went all the way to the Rockies (in the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia), and this summer, we decided to travel to the Maritime provinces on Canada's Atlantic coast. It was a two-week trip where we visited the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. This is the first video from that trip! The family—including their dog, Togo—gets into their rental car (the same model they used on their trip to the Rockies), everything well-organized and with a clear route: cross Ontario and Quebec to reach the Maritime Provinces. On Tuesday, July 2nd, at 9:30 am, they set off from Toronto, facing heavy traffic but with enthusiasm. The goal is to reach Montreal and sleep an hour and a half from the city, in a cabin surrounded by forest and lakes. The decision to travel by car and not by plane is so that Togo can also be part of the adventure. 🥪🚻 Road Trip Stops: Rest Areas, Picnics, and Traveling with Pets The first day is marked by long hours on the road, frequent stops so Togo can stretch his legs, relieve himself, and the travelers can grab a quick bite. They highlight Canada's rest areas, well-equipped for families and pets, with clean restrooms and healthy food options, such as homemade sandwiches and turkey and chicken snacks. Everything is designed for the comfort of those traveling with animals. They're surprised to learn that the place has sold over 6 million pies and enjoy the treats as a true travel ritual. These kinds of places add color and local flavor to long journeys, transforming simple breaks into memorable experiences. 🌲🏡 Arrival at the Cabin: Forest, Lake, and... Mosquitoes As night falls, after visiting family in Montreal, the group faces detours and heavy traffic before arriving at their rented cabin in the countryside, surrounded by forest and next to a lake. The welcome: a swarm of relentless mosquitoes. Amid laughter and towel battles, they explain how mosquitoes are part of the Canadian rural experience. Despite the fatigue and the bites, they celebrate their arrival with a bottle of Argentinian Luigi Bosca wine and plenty of humor, thanking everyone for their collective effort and Togo's patience throughout the day. 🌅🛏️ First Sunrise in Quebec: Cabin Life and Preparations The next day dawns early and bright. Samuel's parents get up at 5:30 am, ready for a long day on the road. Outside, the beauty of the forest competes with the mosquito invasion, limiting their time outdoors. They take the opportunity to exercise Togo and prepare the car for a seven-hour journey across the entire province of Quebec. They cover thousands of kilometers, only stopping so Togo can walk, eat, and drink water. Rest areas once again take center stage, showcasing Canada's infrastructure for those traveling by car. They highlight the cleanliness of the highways, the safety, and the civic culture: not a single piece of litter on the ground, everything spotless. 🌉🏆 The Longest Covered Bridge in the World and Interesting Facts about New Brunswick In New Brunswick, they make a special stop in Hartland to see the longest covered wooden bridge in the world: 1,282 feet, where you can even drive over it. They describe how these bridges are part of the architectural and cultural heritage of eastern Canada. It's a picture-perfect scene for those who enjoy history and traditional engineering.
