Adorning the building are two 5 metre tall statues of the mythical Liver birds, after which the city of Liverpool is named. Next to it on the right is the Cunard Building, the former headquarters of the Cunard-White Star ferry company which operated ferries from Liverpool to New York. Just in the distance in the centre is the famous statue of The Beatles!
