The Quiet Power of Midlife Female Friendship | Sleeve Island
After spending time at yarn festivals and fibre events over the last few weeks, I’ve found myself reflecting on something much deeper than knitting. There’s something incredibly powerful about female-led creative communities in midlife — the warmth, generosity, honesty and quiet support that exists in these spaces. Women from completely different backgrounds gathering together without competition or performance… simply connecting through creativity, conversation and shared experience. In this Sleeve Island episode, I’m talking about midlife friendship and community and the emotional power of fibre spaces. I'm certainly feeling the pull toward a quieter, more intentional life and the sense that many of us may be searching for a reset and possibly the next challenge to embrace and explore! Plus, of course, knitting projects, reflections from recent yarn events, and a cosy catch-up after a busy few weeks away. Put the kettle on, pick up your knitting, and come and spend some time on Sleeve Island. Ruth Pickvance https://element-active.co.uk/author/r...
