I Turned Claude Code Into a Research Engine (Stanford STORM)

But each platform still sees the world through its own model, defaults, and blind spots. In this video, I show the Research Engine: a Claude Code skill inspired by Stanford’s STORM approach that turns a research goal into an approval-first, multi-model research program. Instead of relying on one prompt or one platform’s deep-research feature, the Research Engine uses expert lenses across Claude, Perplexity, ChatGPT, and Gemini. It compares what they find, maps agreement and disagreement, checks contested claims against sources, and produces a traceable research report. I run it live on a practical question: What recurring problems do small businesses earning roughly $2M–$20M per year face? You’ll see the scope process, approval gate, cost estimate, expert lenses, four-model research run, finished report, and what the added model lanes surfaced that the earlier two-model run missed. STORM stands for Synthesis of Topic Outlines through Retrieval and Multi-perspective Question Asking. The Research Engine takes the core multi-perspective idea further with cross-model research, disagreement analysis, verification, and a project-based research record.
