6-HR Ironman Race | 2022 KTM 300 XC-W | Charity Race

I rode the occasional dirt bike as a kid here and there, but never really "got into it". Now, as an adult, I've fallen back in love and am finally really trying to ride. I started this year by entering some hare scrambles and began my steep learning curve. With a little bit of confidence under my belt, I entered this 6 hour Ironman race called "Laps for Lungs" to help fundraise for research on Cystic Fibrosis - a worthy cause if I ever heard one. I'm riding a 2022 KTM 300 XC-W TPI that is basically stock except for protection bolt-on parts. I really enjoyed this endurance style of riding. I love to embrace the suck and challenge myself physically and mentally. Most riders here were WAY faster than me, but it was a great environment to try an Ironman like this for the first time. I had a blast and look forward to trying another one. I completed 8 laps in about 6 hrs. I placed 41 out of 63 "teams" and 11th out of 26 Ironman riders (though many of the guys I beat were much faster, they just took their time in the pits and stuff). The main objective was achieved - have fun and come back in mostly one piece.
