Sinergia | Madiun – Gadjah Mada University (UGM) continues to foster innovation in the agricultural sector through the development of the superior rice variety Gamagora 7 (Gadjah Mada Gogo Rancah 7). This variety, dubbed "amphibious rice," was introduced to farmers in Madiun Regency during a major harvest at a demonstration plot in Gunungsari Village, Madiun District, on Friday (July 10, 2026). The major harvest was part of UGM's Community Service Program (KKN), which aims to introduce agricultural technology developed through university research to the public. The harvested plot, which covers more than one hectare, demonstrated competitive yields compared to rice varieties commonly cultivated by farmers. The event was attended by Arie Sujito, Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Community Service, and Alumni, UGM Senate members, the Directorate of Community Service (DPKM), the Center for Village and Regional Studies (PSDK), the Center for Agrotechnology Innovation (PIAT), the UGM Faculty of Agriculture, the Madiun Regency Agriculture Office, the village heads of Gunungsari, Tulungrejo, and Pulungrejo, the Gunungsari Farmers Group, Madiun Millennial Farmers, and the Gadjah Mada Alumni Family (KAGAMA) Madiun.
