We all "Speak Human" | Jurgis DID | TEDxNovosibirsk
Testing a premise rather than delivering a talk. Jurgis Didžiulis playfully demonstrates that “human” is not just a kind of being, it is also a language. "Human" is an empathetic code through which we invoke, transmit and receive complex emotional messages. Basic primal programming makes intimate connection possible despite verbal barriers and other cultural obstacles. Jurgis dosen’t speak much Russian, the audience’s is English isn’t great either. By relying on interactive music, a mischievous demeanour, and expressive mimicry, Jurgis shares his recipe for connection. Striking intimacy with strangers can often feel like dancing on thin ice, tickling a giant bear, or stealing a kiss from a venomous spider. Jurgis argues that all is safe as long as we acknowledge individual context and circumstance, and then choose to reach beyond them. The key message is simple and transcends verbal linguistics: we are all human we all understand human we all speak human we all need human Musician This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
