How To Dance Like A Tudor
Dancing was a huge part of life at the Tudor Court in the 1500s. Gentlemen and ladies would learn a variety of dances from childhood in order to impress, and get ahead in the marriage market. In this video, curator Charles Farris meets two historical interpreters who are experts in the different styles of dance that Elizabeth I might have performed, including the scandalous Volta, the Galliard, and the Spanish Panic! Stay tuned for a dance tutorial of the Pavane, a popular Renaissance dance which was performed at the Tudor court.
