Underrated Game Engine? | Horror Game Devlog #1
You've heard of Unity, Unreal, and Godot... but what about Flax Engine? After a previous unfinished project, I'm ditching the "big three" and challenging myself to build a brand new horror experience using this powerful, lightweight, and surprisingly capable engine. I will explore Flax Engine's workflow, successfully port over a complex procedural dungeon generation system (complete with performance optimizations like chunking and culling!), and even get AI enemies up and running. I'll share my first impressions, discuss the scripting experience with C# (and a little AI help!), and weigh the pros and cons of working with a smaller, yet highly performant, engine. #FlaxEngine #GameDev #HorrorGame #Devlog #IndieGameDev #GameEngine #ProceduralGeneration #AIGameDev #Csharp
