Autour du sommet des Pyrénées Françaises

Damien, the kind hiker and kindness expert, welcome! Today, another beautiful route. Starting from the cheese dairy above Cauterets, then on to Lac d'Estom and the lakes above it (several routes are possible), pass through the Col des Gentianes and climb to Vignemale via the glacier. Descend and, about 200 meters below the glacier, turn left, passing the Refuge de Baysselance. Cross the Hourquette d'Ossoue, descend following the route that heads slightly north and then turns back to aim for the Col des Mulets opposite. It's possible to pass by the Refuge des Oulettes at the foot of the north face of Vignemale, a fantastic bivouac spot. After the Col des Mulets, take the Col d'Aratille, descend, and pass the Refuge Wallon. Then look for the route to climb to Lac Nère, then Lac de Pourtet, two other lakes, and descend towards the Cayan plateau. Arriving at Pont d'Espagne, take the Chemin des Cascades (Waterfall Trail), continue to La Raillère, pass the Lutour waterfall, and take the path that climbs uphill. At the intersection, head south to La Fruitière. The loop is complete. Bonus: Spend the night at the Russell refuge, then head back up towards Lac d'Estom. About 500 meters before the bridge over the river, ascend the path, following it carefully to arrive directly at Russell at 1986 meters altitude. Narrative with my notes: I have the urge to decide to go to the mountains, and to do it: that's living. I also have the urge to live in the mountains, I have the urge to embrace what they demand of me, and the pleasure (pause) of sharing all of this with you. I tell myself that the mountains welcome me, I'm going to play there, come with me, I'll take you. This is Lake Couy, I'm not quite sure how to pronounce it, "C O U Y," Couy? I'm so happy in the mountains. Every morning I leave from this place where I wake up, this place I love so much, lakes everywhere, each one more beautiful than the last. There's Lake Gentianes, my friend Laurent's favorite. Oh Laurent, I'll have to show you my favorite lakes, kind of in the same chronology of my mountain discovery as yours with Lake Gentianes. For me, it's Lakes d'Estibe Aute. Here's this view of Baysselance and the Vignemal Massif. Quick but concise: The Bellevue Caves The Col des Mulets (Mule Pass) Ah, it's beautiful, isn't it! Dear friends, as you've seen, I'm currently posting one video a month, the first Thursday at 5 pm to keep things consistent. Dear friends, I say it again, until next time!
