Olievenhoutbosch Tennis Project

I started a tennis coaching project in Olievenhoutbosch in April 2022. I am well acquainted with the area as I worked there for 12 months with Mahlasedi Foundation, distributing food and providing support to the community shortly after the hit of the Covid-19 Pandemic. I am currently conducting tennis coaching at Walter Sisulu Primary School. The school principal and staff are very supportive of the project, scheduling a time slot to coach all 180 of their Grade 1 scholars, during school hours as part of their PE program as required by the Department of Education. The vision and plan of this project is to expand the tennis coaching to other grades and schools in the near future. I am using my own tennis equipment currently, which includes: tennis rackets, balls and a tennis net since the scholars and school have limited resources. Our biggest challenge at this stage is the state of the two tennis courts at the school and providing equipment to the scholars. The equipment currently needed includes: Tennis balls Tennis rackets Tennis net Sports cones and targets In the case that you have any form of tennis equipment you are no longer using which you would like to donate, feel free to contact me. Alternatively, if you or someone you know, would like to make any contribution or sponsorship toward this project it will be much appreciated too. Sponsor an assistant: In addition to the above, as the tennis classes grow we have thought it well to make use of some local students residing in Olievenhoutbosch as coaching assistants when conducting these tennis lessons. This schedule will work on a rotation basis where each students assists as coaching assistant twice a month. We would like to compensate these students with R100 per class.
