Underpowered, unreliable, and Tyrrell used up 50 in half a season. Because the stop-start nature of practice and testing meant that the engines were being ruined. But either way. Yamaha came in to F1, teamed up with some teams that weren't exactly going to hit the ground running, and only had a handful of points and a couple of podiums to show for their investment.
