Because there is so little correct information about how to save your recorded piano playing from your Yamaha P-115 piano to your computer, Gail has made this video to assist anybody who would like to do this. The Yamaha website and instruction book for their pianos is very confusing and Gail figured this out using trial and error. She wants to share what she learned to help out anybody who got as frustrated as she did trying to decipher all this. The Yamaha P-115 piano will only store one recording at a time. So unless you save your recorded playing to your computer (or somewhere other than the piano), you lose it the next time you record on your pianoThe piano will need to be powered ! The piano will need to be powered ON when you connect it to the computer, or the piano files will not transfer to your computer. If you don't want to put the file onto Audacity (to edit it) and just want to listen to it on your computer, Windows Media Player will play MIDI files. If you don't have Windows Media Player, check to see if any of your music playing software will accept MIDI files and use one of them. If not, you may need to download a music player that will play MIDI files. The other option is to convert all your MIDI files to .wav or .mp3 to listen to them on your computer.
