Lloyd Lee Wilson interview Nov 2019

In this interview, Lloyd Lee Wilson speaks of how he first attended a Quaker Meeting, why he stayed, and of the evolution of his faith. He describes how he became a conscientious objector during the Vietnam War (leaving the military), and later a war tax resister. For nine years at Norfolk Quaker House, he and his wife, Susan, counseled other military or military-bound people who were having a change of conscience. He speaks of what it means to him to now be a Christian and of the particular form of inclusive Christianity practiced among North Carolina Yearly Meeting (Conservative) Friends. He describes his experience that God calls all to live in community in some form, to learn together how to live into the Kingdom of God. He speaks of why he doesn't accept payment for ministry and describes the Sabbath practices that he shares with his wife. He tells about the four basic elements of the Deeper Roots program offered by Broken Vessels Quaker Ministries. At the end of the interview he speaks of how God is calling us to live in this time of crisis and Empire, and the role that Friends might have in that.
