Created after a disaster lifted parts of the land into the sky, this floating archipelago blends familiar urban landmarks with a fantastical, elevated setting, offering exploration and vertical traversal. Its bright yellow aesthetic and scattered ruins give it the feel of a paradise in the clouds, mixing nostalgia with fresh challenges. Players start by meeting Rookidee and repairing the local Pokémon Center, then work toward rebuilding the three-floor Celadon Department Store using materials like PokeMetal, concrete, glass, and gold ingots. To attract Pokémon like Froakie and Dragonite, they create habitats such as Hydrated Pink Tall Grass and Waterside Dinghy, unlocking abilities like Glide to reach distant islands. Mewtwo can be found on the store’s rooftop, making it a hotspot for rare encounters. Entry to Sparkling Skylands requires completing the main quests in Withered Wasteland, Bleak Beach, and Rocky Ridges, befriending Raikou and Volcanion, and achieving Ultra Trainer Rank.
