When your identity provider renewal price skyrockets

When identity provider renewal costs increase sharply, many organizations feel trapped. They rely on the platform for MFA, SSO, VPN access, Office 365, cloud applications, and legacy systems. Moving away can seem too risky or too complex. But it does not have to be. In this short video, we summarize a real migration from Okta to OpenOTP, RCDevs’ European on-premise identity and access management solution. The project showed that a cloud identity provider can be replaced by a sovereign on-premise alternative while keeping existing infrastructure in place: Active Directory remained the source of truth Applications were migrated step by step SAML and OpenID Connect integrations were handled by RCDevs Federation Services VPN authentication continued through RADIUS Bridge Office 365 was migrated as a final dedicated step Identity data stayed on the customer’s own infrastructure The result: strong authentication, federation, MFA, control, and sovereignty — at around one third of the previous renewal cost.
