ALMOGRAVE - ZAMBUJEIRA do MAR (25 Kms) We leave Almograve following the Barranquinho river towards its mouth at Praia da Foz dos Ouriços. Next to this sandy area are located the shores of Praia de Nossa Senhora and Praia de Almograve, the latter of which is more than 500 meters long and is surrounded by a comfortable dirt road. Then, after flanking the beautiful Praia da Barca Grande and the Porto de Pesca de Lapa de Pombas, we access a cliff profile that becomes more impressive as we advance. The coves of Entrada do Pau and Palheirões do Pulo test our vertigo before entering a pine forest that surrounds a dune complex. Later, the signs return us to the coast to enjoy the spectacular Praia do Cavaleiro, although later we will have to make a detour to save the depression of the Barranco do Cavaleiro and reach the fascinating environment of Cabo Sardão. This ledge and its surroundings are dotted with stork nests that defy gravity and storms, and the lighthouse that stands here is witness to this both day and night. Next, we continue to follow the cliff line, adding to the route with natural arches and formations that put our imagination to the test. After the Ponta da Cerva we contemplate several inlets of interest to then cross a corridor of acacias that will lead to the gates of the almost inaccessible Praia do Tonel. In the following kilometers we face the slope of Ensenada da Barca surrounding its small port complex and then joining the pedestrian path next to the CM-1158 road that goes straight to Zambujeira do Mar.
