Alkohol: Ab wann trinken wir zu viel? | 10 Tage alkoholfrei | Re-Upload
Completely sober or regularly tipsy? rbb reporter Helena Daehler explores the question: When does alcohol become a problem, and is my current consumption still okay? She meets a bar owner who enjoys getting drunk and a woman who advocates a sober lifestyle. Who can convince Helena? More documentaries in the playlist: • Alle Dokus & Reportagen Even more documentaries in the ARD Mediathek: https://www.ardmediathek.de/rbb/dokus... Alcohol is everywhere, and drinking it seems perfectly normal: at family celebrations, in restaurants, after work. Regular alcohol consumption is part of everyday life for most Germans. According to a survey by the Federal Centre for Health Education, a good 70 percent of Germans between the ages of 18 and 64 have consumed alcohol within the last 30 days. During the coronavirus pandemic, according to surveys, alcohol consumption has increased even further: Existential fears, social isolation, feeling overwhelmed – reaching for a bottle promises relaxation and stress relief – yet even small amounts of alcohol are harmful. rbb reporter Helena Daehler also enjoys a drink: a beer after a tennis match, a glass of wine after work. But she wonders: How much alcohol is actually okay? How much do I need its relaxing and stimulating effects? What do I really know about the consequences? And how do I feel when I abstain – when I go out and sit sober among a crowd of tipsy people? She records her impressions in a video diary. And Helena Daehler meets two people with very different perspectives on the topic: Vlada Mättig is in her mid-30s and drank heavily and partied for ten years – she was an alcoholic. Today, Vlada Mättig works as a blogger, podcaster, and sobriety coach. She is part of the growing movement of people who confidently advocate for a life without alcohol. For bar owner Bernd Ehnes, beer is an integral part of his daily routine. He runs a pub in Berlin-Neukölln and enjoys raising a glass with his regulars. He likes getting drunk; for him, drinking and going out are part of the Berlin lifestyle. At the end of the film, Helena will consider: Am I already at risk? And how can I be more mindful of my alcohol consumption in the future? "A Question of Attitude: When Does Alcohol Become a Problem?"
