Oldgeezer and Crew Open the Shipping Season on the St Clair River!

Vikki, Debra and I took a trip to the St Clair river to view freighters on the weekend after the Soo Locks opened for the season. We chased freighters from Algonac to Port Huron and everywhere in between (East China, Marine City, etc). We saw the ships Whitefish Bay, Tug Karen Andrie pushing Endeavour Barge, Algoma Equinox, Saginaw, Robert S Pierson, Kaministiqua, Iver Bright, Jiimaan, Algoma Innovator, Mark W Barker, Algoma Discovery, and last, but not least, Mesabi Miner. Join me on my walk down the Blue Water Riverwalk in Port Huron. On the Riverwalk, I found the Seven Grandfather Teachings Sculptures, Love, Wisdom, Humility, Honesty, Respect, Truth and Courage created by Garrett Nahdee an artist from the Ojibway Tribe of Walpole Island First Nation. You will also see some of the amazing food we found on the trip. And don’t forget about the train. On the way home we traveled through Detroit and saw National Coney Island Headquarters. Come along with us on this latest adventure.
