Discover Cameron Highland // Malaysia's Coolest Mountain Paradise and Tea Valley Escape

The Cameron Highlands is a Malaysian district of Pahang with a land area of 712.18 square kilometres (274.97 sq mi). On the north sharing borders with Kelantan and border to the west, it shares a section with Perak. Cameron Highlands is located at the northwestern extreme of Pahang state at a distance of about 90 kilometres (56 mi) east of Ipoh, about 200 kilometres (120 mi) north of Kuala Lumpur or about 355 kilometres (221 mi) north of the capital of Pahang, Kuantan. It is the least populated municipality in the state. In 1885 surveyed by the government geologist and explorer, the outpost is made of three mukims (subdistricts), and these are Ringlet, Tanah Rata and Ulu Telom. It has eight settlements that are Ringlet, Tanah Rata (the administrative centre), Brinchang, the Bertam Valley, Kea Farm, Tringkap, Kampung Kuala Terla, Kampung Raja and Blue Valley. Every one of them is located between 800 metres (2,600 ft to 5259 ft) above sea level. The tableland was built in the 1930s and it is one of the oldest tourist attraction sites in Malaysia. Other than its tea estates, the plateau is also characterized by the cool climate, orchards, nurseries, farmlands, cream tea culture, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, wildlife, mossy forest, golf course, hotels, places of worship, bungalows, Land Rovers, museum and native inhabitants (Orang Asli).
