Touring Volvo Penta's Vara, Sweden Marine Engine Factory
Volvo Penta invited a group of international journalists to tour its 20,000 square-metre plant and European distribution centre in Vara, Sweden. Established in 1977, the modest factory employs just over 200 skilled workers where Volvo Penta's D3, D4 and D6 diesel engines are made. The facility also produces commercial gen sets and several other classified projects.
