On this family trip, we took the Lima to Tarma route through Canta in our van, crossing the La Viuda Mountain Range, a less-traveled road with spectacular scenery. We left Lima in the mist heading to Canta, passed by the impressive Laguna 7 Colores at over 4,800 meters above sea level, saw snow, vicuñas, and explored the Huayllay Stone Forest. We also visited San Pedro de Cajas and found a hidden cave in the mountains.
