The Koueikai is planning a large-scale performance!! Tuesday, November 16, 2021 Culttz Kawasaki (2,000-seat hall) Planned multicultural paid performance. *Schedule subject to change. Bring a breath of fresh air to Japanese culture with shigin! A fusion of projection mapping and shigin! Professionals from a variety of cultures will perform. An impressive lineup includes ballroom dance, Japanese taiko drumming, the Japan Singers Association, hula dancing, ventriloquism, and more! In the shigin section, we are planning a mini-play, "Himiko." Dramatized works like these are often limited to club members, so talented performers may not be able to perform. Current Recruitment 1. Reciters: 8 people who will recite the shigin in the play. Men and women, intermediate or professional level. *Audits may be required. 2. Dance of the Thousand-Armed Kannon: Beginners welcome. Let's dance together on the big stage. We have already decided on 10 participants, so we are looking for 5-10 more. Some of the participants are in their 80s, and it's their first time. It's more like exercise than dancing (lol). As long as you're motivated, you're welcome. *The performance will be open to professionals only, but you will be participating as the opening act of the Tobari troupe. You probably joined without much thought, based on how you felt at the time, but the club you join will become your parent. In other words, it's not easy to transfer. This is what determines your path in shigin. You joined this club by chance. I hope you cherish it. I want to get better...and to do that, I want to study more! There are so many wonderful teachers out there, but you can't get any instruction. Isn't it sad? When you watch competitions, you see so many unfortunate people. They have what it takes, but...they can't win. There's always a reason for that. Because they don't know the reason, they enter every year and get the same results. Of course. Because they don't know why they're not getting good marks or what they're doing wrong. I've actually met many teachers who wanted to teach me. "I'm sorry. I can't teach people from other schools." That's what they all say. As with any art, you won't get better unless you're taught by a skilled teacher. Does your current teacher treat you well? I don't have very fond memories of shigin. Young energy is crushed...but that wasn't the case. I've had many wonderful teachers, and they've helped me a lot. I believe there are many things that only your precious teacher can do. Please learn well. This is the most important thing. But please also know the world! I was moved...and I hope you all feel the same way. Is it okay to live your life only within your vessel? Study hard. All teachers are wonderful, no matter who they are! But they all have their own good points. I'll do my best too. I hope you all do your best, too.
