The first step in getting to good marks is attempting the complete paper. If you only attempt 80–90 marks, you are voluntarily sacrificing 10–20 marks before the examiner even touches your sheet. Paper lengths are getting bigger, questions are getting tougher every attempt, but that doesn't mean paper can't be completed within 3 hours📋 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞.... •𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬- Give as many mocks as possible, making sure main exams don't turn into mock tests for you •𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟑𝟎 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞- You have 5 questions+ MCQ. Allot 30 minutes to each & try not to overstretch. Simple maths, you see •𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐦- Start with the questions you are most comfortable with. This locks in secure marks quickly, builds momentum, and leaves you with a time buffer for the trickier problems later. •𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰- Remember each question carries 14 marks. Just restrict yourself to what's relevant, any extra fluff won't fetch you extra marks •𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟓 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬- Skip the MCQs and the compulsory question during the reading time. Focus entirely on choosing which optional questions to drop and which ones to target first. A wrong selection here leaves no room for a comeback. •𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞- Don't wait for last minute to switch the gears. Maintain a brisk, disciplined pace from the very first sentence. •𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞- This is the most important part, especially for exams like the AFM May 26 attempt. Skill is only half the battle.
