Market day in Montauban, France. Montauban is about 40 kms north of Toulouse and it has a fabulous market on Saturday mornings with lots of small producers of fruit, vegetables, wines, sausages, saucissons, cheese, hams, seafood and honey, amongst other delicious products. Montauban centre is really beautiful and steeped in history, the town is in the Tarn et Garonne département of south west France and does not look like a place that you would want to visit from the road that goes from the A62 to the A20, but believe me it is well worth a visit and the market is exceptional. The market traders are friendly and helpful and just love people tasting their wares before buying. It may not be the most quaint of markets in the region, but the produce here is fantastic and it has a really friendly and laid-back vibe about it - well worth a visit!
