Good lures for lingcod include swimbaits, diamond jigs, herring, sardines, anchovies, shrimp flies and live rigged baitfish. In this video I catch copper rockfish, which are common and good to eat. Black rockfish are good to eat and easy to catch. You can keep 3 blacks and a total of 10 rockfish. Kayak rock fishing is common on the West Coast. Good areas to fish for rockfish and lingcod include San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Monterey bay, Humboldt Bay, Trinidad Bay, Central Coast California, Oregon(Coos bay, Bandon, Southern Oregon, Central Oregon, and into Washington and British Colombia. Puget sound can be good as well.
