A Thirlmere Steam Spectacular - July 9th, 2026

A busy Thursday morning at Thirlmere on July 9th, 2026 We see Steam Locomotive 3001 preparing for a day of shuttle runs along the loop line to Buxton. Steam Locomotive 3801 returns home to Thirlmere after an unexpected overnight stay in Campbelltown due to a nationwide Telstra outage, after completing a successful trial run up to Broadmeadow in preparation for the Newcastle Flyer this September. Diesel Locomotive 4807 then shunts away 3801's coaches, followed by Steam Locomotive 3265, which gets ready and departs Thirlmere for the Valley Heights Rail Museum to be on display for cab visits during Blue Mountains Steam FunFest.
