La Larga, with its curious name, originated on the land where a ranch called "La Larga" (from which it takes its name) once stood. This ranch belonged to Julio Argentino Roca, who, by combining the names of his three ranches—La Larga, La Paz, and La Argentina—evoked a sense of hope in the phrase "Larga Paz Argentina" (Long Peace Argentina). This small hamlet in the district of Daireaux, Buenos Aires province, is a simple cluster of houses surrounding a typical train station, where little ever happens. The truth is, despite appearing to be a simple and undisturbed place, this town hides a national historical relic of our beautiful country. The town's bakery is over 100 years old and still in operation. Its old building, ovens, and vintage machinery, nestled in a rural setting, create a heritage landmark that gives the town of La Larga a distinctive character. This bakery is surrounded by several houses, including the school, an old butcher shop, and a couple of other old mansions. Together, they form the place that brings us together today: La Larga.
