Rambling Railwayman's Recollections - Driving Days - Effingham Junction
This video is part of 'Rambling Railwayman’s Recollections’ of a book written and self-published by Geoff Burch - part of The Rambling Railwayman Series. The only way to get to driver status was to apply for a vacancy for a driver’s position elsewhere so this part of Geoff’s career covers his time as a driver at Effingham Junction EMUT depot. Most of the work involved driving suburban trains in and around the London area, the main type of units being 4 or 8-SUB Units fitted with Westinghouse brakes.
