In this episode, we explore one of the most surprising accounts from Autobiography of a Yogi. Months after Sri Yukteswar's death, Paramahansa Yogananda claims that his teacher appeared to him in a Bombay hotel room. Not as a shadow or a blurry vision, but with a body he could see, hear, and even embrace. During that encounter, Sri Yukteswar revealed to him what existence after death would be like: the physical, astral, and causal bodies; the invisible worlds that coexist with our own; the different levels of the astral plane; the reunion with our loved ones; reincarnation; and the reason why dying does not automatically make us enlightened beings. We will also see why, according to various spiritual traditions, a being from another plane could take on a visible and tangible form within the intermediate or imaginal world. The great lesson of this story is that death does not destroy our consciousness. It only transports us to another level of reality, taking with us the desires, fears, attachments, and qualities we cultivated during our life.
