The Gapyeong Rotary Club successfully held its 30th Annual "Health Walk Carbon Neutrality Campaign" in commemoration of the 31st Environment Day on the morning of June 7 in the area around Gapyeong Jatgoeul Market. As a representative volunteer activity with a 30-year history, this event garnered significant interest with the participation of approximately 500 people, including Gapyeong County Governor Seo Tae-won, County Council Member Choi Won-jung, County Council Member-elect Park Young-hee, Provincial Assembly Member-elect Park Young-sun, Rotary Club members, heads of related agencies and organizations, and local residents. Starting from Jatgoeul Plaza, participants enjoyed the early summer nature while walking along the rail bike section and the Gapyeong Stream walking path. The course proceeded by passing the walking path towards Hillstate, turning around at a U-turn point, and returning to the event venue. During the event, environmental awareness was raised by promoting practical carbon neutrality measures in daily life, such as deleting unnecessary emails, using carbon footprint certified products, unplugging unused appliances, using upcycled products, reducing single-use items, and recycling waste. In addition, participants contributed to making Gapyeong clean by personally collecting trash discarded in the surroundings while walking. The organizers added to the participants' enjoyment by holding a raffle for finishers and distributing over 100 prizes, including iPhones, a trip for two to Jeju Island, Samsung tablet PCs, blenders, and induction cooktops.
