#skylimitprojman #becauselittlethingsmatter #thecapemalay #pinkieschow #madrassatusobiereen #jawwap The seventh episode of Season 2, the Brand New SERIES: The Cape Malay “Jawwap!” BRAND NEW | Season 2: Episode 7 | Ismail (Bolla) Buffkins | The Cape Malay “Jawwap” a division of SKYLIMIT ProjMan (PTY) Ltd “Because Little Things Matter” Meet 73-year-old Ismail Buffkins, better known as ‘Bolla’ currently residing in Wynberg. Born and bred in our beautiful Cape Town, in District Six, the well-known, legendary, passionate and exceptionally multi-talented Bolla chats to us about his extraordinary life journey & experiences. The amazing characters & phenomenal stories make everything come alive, like magic, as he takes a trip down memory lane to reminisce over his life as a ‘District-sixion!’ Bolla’s remarkable health & phenomenal energy (for his age) is unbelievable, as he runs up & down several flights of stairs at his home, quite a few times a day. Bolla talks through his family, interesting roots & life growing up in District 6 as well as doing many other great things. Bolla brings the drama & keeps us entertained as this interview shares background information from many walks of life, participating in the coon carnivals from a young age & later becoming a judge in the best dress category & also that of the Cape Malay Choral Competitions along with his cousins; his salon days, fashion modeling, choreographer, roles in theatre & even the movies along with many famous icons, and last but not least, the beautiful trips to Makka. Here, we are reminded to be nice to people because we all need each other. Yes, go for your dreams but don’t forget about your good deeds. We thank him for inviting us into his home to share his story with us & a special thanks to the District Six Museum for making this video even more memorable! You have been “Cape-M’laid” ------------------------------------------------- The raw and untold stories depicted here were inspired by our Galant and Diedericks Families, formerly from Claremont and District Six in Cape Town, SOUTH AFRICA; by our self-published and best seller book: Imam Haron’s BILAL ”Let them hear, let them listen!” (where we have encapsulated our father's memories of the 1960s, Hajji Abduraghmaan 'Pinkie' Galant, a student of the Anti-apartheid icon, the late Imam Abdullah Haron who was incarcerated for 123 days without charge and in isolation, he was brutally tortured and killed in September of 1969, written in true Cape Malay style, by Fatima Galant Abrahams, with supporting footnotes and a glossary to better explain to the reader); as well as by our Madrassatu-Sobiereen, our Pinkie’s CHOW Community Food Drives, our rich culture, history, and traditions preserved by our forefathers. Despite everything they have gone through in the past, a joyous spirit remains. ------------------------------------------------- SUBSCRIBE to our Cape Malay “JAWWAP” Channel on YouTube, it’s FREE! / @thecapemalayjawwap Turn on the Notification Bell so you never miss new content.
