Munro & Taurikura Bays, Whangārei Harbour - SV WAKAWAKA 2024

After servicing all the diesel engines during the week it was time for the Admiral and myself to head out for the weekend. Friday afternoon we cast off from our berth at Port Nikau Marina and had a slow sail down Whangārei Harbour, passing home to anchor for the night in Munro Bay. Saturday dawned calm , but overcast. Motored further down harbour to Urquhardts Bay, then back along the shore to anchor in Taurikura Bay. By then a strong northerly had sprung up. A quiet relaxing afternoon followed. Later the wind eased and changed to northwest followed by the forecast rain.
