1885 Star Antique Bicycle High Wheel made in Smithville , NJ

Antique Star Bicycle made by the H B Smith Co. of Smithville, NJ 1885. The Star was invented by Pressey in1880 and production by H B Smith 1881-1894 , roughly 7200 Stars were made . Two one way clutches allow the bike to coast. an entirely different set of muscles need to be trained to ride the Star efficiently, galloping like a horse , much different motion than pedaling a bicycle.
