This week, thousands of doctors in Spain began their fourth strike in a year. They are demanding their own statute and a review of mandatory and poorly paid on-call shifts. Participation has not been widespread, and therefore, in many hospitals and health centers, the impact is less noticeable than expected: many are already working under chronic overload. In response to the doctors' demands, Minister Mónica García defends the Framework Statute. Ana Giménez, president of the Association of Doctors and Higher Education Graduates of Madrid (AMYTS), criticizes the government's treatment: “The negotiations with us were a complete failure.
