Strickmuster No. 14: Ajourmuster stricken - Zick-Zack-Muster mit Lochstruktur

In this video, I'll show you how easy it is to knit a pretty lace pattern that creates a zigzag pattern. The pattern has a very tidy look and is perfect for large fabrics (sweaters, cardigans). My grandma always used it to knit pillowcases, and I think it's really beautiful for that too. Just let your imagination run wild with what you want to use the pattern for. You're welcome to copy and print the chart here if you want to keep it next to you while knitting or want to refer back to it later. CAST-ON | STITCH COUNT For the pattern, you need a stitch count that's divisible by 8. To do this, add 1 extra stitch at the end to create a nice open edge and 2 edge stitches if you're working in a single piece (8 + 3). If you're working in the round, you don't need any extra edge stitches, and you can also omit the additional stitch. CAST-ON | STITCH COUNT For the pattern, you need a stitch count that's divisible by 8. To do this, add 1 extra stitch at the end to create a nice open edge and 2 edge stitches if you're working in a single piece. For example, cast on 24 stitches (divisible by 8) + 1 stitch for a nice border + 2 edge stitches = 27 stitches. If you want to work wider, simply add a number of stitches that is divisible by 8. You only need to add the 1 extra stitch and the 2 edge stitches once, regardless of the width. A slip edge, for example, is suitable for edge stitches (which I'm working in this video). But you can also work any other type of edge stitch.
