Go to War Thunder and start you great military journey: (For PC) https://playwt.link/skyships (For Mobile) https://wtm.game/skyships In this video we will get acquainted with a very unusual aircraft, which was a real local breakthrough of its time, incorporating technologies that were ahead of their time and capabilities that seemed incredible for its class. The A-6 Intruder is a carrier-based all-weather attack aircraft/bomber developed by Grumman for the US Navy and Marine Corps in the early 1960s. A hybrid of two concepts, the aircraft incorporated the advantages of both, possessing the maneuverability and low-altitude capability of an attack aircraft, as well as the range and combat load of a bomber. The A-6 was a concentrate of the most advanced technologies of its time, possessing self-diagnostic capabilities, synthetic vision, automatic piloting and bombing systems, as well as all the capabilities for night and all-weather operations. The aircraft was the basis for many modifications, including different versions of attack aircraft and bombers, as well as aerial-refueling aircraft (KA-6D) and electronic warfare aircraft. Having entered service in the early 1960s, the A-6 Intruder served until the beginning of the 21st century, and the EA-6B Prowler electronic warfare aircraft was withdrawn from service only recently.
