A Day Out with Thomas: The 2026 Rock and Roll Tour at The Essex Steam Train and Riverboat!

On April 25th and May 2nd, I have the great opportunity of filming the 2026 Day Out with Thomas Event! I was here last year with one of my close friends the morning after my High School Prom and was a blast. Since April 2012, I've been travelling to Essex, CT for the heritage railroad's popular family events featuring Thomas the Tank Engine, and on certain occasions, even Percy often shows up too! The Thomas model is one of 5 Dummy Units from Strasburg, Pennsylvania, that travels across the country to different local railroads around America, in which this year, Dummy Number 2 was at Essex this time! In incredibly rare occasions during the 2000's, the H.K Porter 0.6.0 locomotive redesigned as Thomas had also made certain visits in Essex! Essex is only around 60 minutes from where I live, and it's really fun to visit the railroad and film some beautiful railroad footage! Some bits of footage featured in this video will be a part of my Essex documentary that lately I've been refilming and filming new footage, especially this month, now that its steam locomotives are finally back in action! This year, Connecticut Valley Railroad 2 - 8 - 2 No.40 took the special trains from Essex Station and past Commerce Crossing, soon reversing right back to the station, in which last year, Valley Railroad 2 - 8 -2 No.3025, built nearly 40 years ago in Tangshan, China, took the train down the line. This year, No. 3025 will be in a state of repair and overhaul, and will hopefully return to steam by the end of this year or in 2027!
