hotpoint WDF740P - coloured 40 mini load

here is the mini load option on the hotpoint aquarius+, shown on the coloured 40° cycle. the main wash level is still fully reliant on the pressure switch, which is fantastic and exactly as it should be, in my opinion. since it makes sure it's not wasting water, but also still has enough to wash adequately. however, the rinses are timed fill only and perform just a very low level single stage. this works really well for 1-2 items. which to be fair, is kind of what this option is for. but anything absorbent and it could air-rinse very easily. since the presuure switch is not used on the rinses with this option, it has no way of knowing when it needs more water. while i am happy that the mini load option actually does something useful here (unlike on the aqualtis where water levels were not affected at all), i am not happy that this machine makes you choose between very deep rinses and very shallow rinses, with no middle ground. i think they should have had the rinses act the same way as the main wash - use the pressure switch and only fill to minimum level. the spins are not affected, which is perfect. although coloured does finish without an anti-crease when mini load is enabled. other cycles do still perform anti-crease when used with mini load. 00:00:00 - introduction, loading, adding detergent, selecting cycle 00:02:27 - start and initial fill 00:10:33 - main wash 00:27:47 - first intermediate spin 600rpm 00:34:46 - very shallow first rinse 00:38:00 - second intermediate spin 800rpm 00:45:54 - very shallow softener rinse 00:49:07 - final spin phase 1 (500rpm) 00:53:58 - anti-crease 00:55:33 - final spin phase 2 (1000rpm) 00:59:15 - distribution 00:59:33 - final spin phase 3 ("1400rpm") 01:04:59 - end, unloading and results
