Major Thomas Weir - with Simon Bendle at Riddle's Court - Scottish Historic Buildings Trust

You can support SHBT in many ways from providing a donation, giving of your time as a volunteer, becoming a friend and actively telling people about the work of the charity and the opportunities to explore and use these wonderful buildings. Visit https://www.shbt.org.uk/ways-to-help/ for more information. Get in the Halloween spirit with Simon Bendle and listen to this tale of Major Thomas Weir - Riddle's Court's original neighbour from hell! Riddle's Court is steeped in history. A visit to our building is a journey through 500 years: each painstakingly restored room resonant of a different chapter in this complex tale, from the banquet of King James I and VI to the arts and crafts dining hall of Edinburgh’s first university residencies. The building reopened in August 2017 after an intensive two year long, £6 million restoration project carried out by the Scottish Historic Buildings Trust. New contemporary interventions have transformed its atmospheric historic spaces into a state-of-the-art venue with full lift access.
