“The equipment doesn't matter, only the handle matters.” How many times have we heard this in the world of photography? In this video, we address one of the most recurring (and, in my opinion, most hypocritical) phrases in contemporary photography: the idea that photographic equipment doesn't matter and that everything depends solely on the photographer's skill. Let's be clear: skills, experience, and craftsmanship are fundamental. The so-called "handle" absolutely matters. But claiming that equipment doesn't matter at all ignores an essential part of photography. Photography is made with light, with the eye... and with tools. Choosing the right camera, the right lens, or the right photographic system isn't technological fetishism: it's often a conscious choice tied to your own language, your own style, and the type of photography you want to create.
