Hello Makkalea! ❤️ Welcome back to another Sri Lanka travel adventure! In this vlog, I wake up in beautiful Kandy, one of Sri Lanka’s most scenic hill cities. The morning started with breathtaking views from my room as mist-covered mountains, lush greenery, and light rain transformed the city into a dream destination. The peaceful atmosphere made me want to stay longer, but the journey had to continue. My first stop was the world-famous Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of the most important Buddhist sites in the world. The temple houses a sacred tooth relic believed to belong to Lord Buddha, which was brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th century AD. According to history, the relic was secretly transported from India by Princess Hemamali and Prince Dantha and has since become a symbol of Sri Lankan heritage, faith, and royal authority. Located in the heart of Kandy, this UNESCO-recognized landmark attracts thousands of pilgrims and travelers every year. After exploring this incredible piece of history and culture, I headed to one of Kandy’s most loved local restaurants – Siri Ramya. Locals highly recommended this place for authentic Sri Lankan food, and I couldn’t wait to find out why.
