It is the smallest and innermost planet in the Solar System, bearing the full brunt of the Sun's volatile coronal mass ejections. It's orbital eccentricities fooled astronomers and mathematicians for centuries and it has amazed current scientists with it's recently discovered water-ice and organic compounds.
