Is Air India worth the extra over IndiGo?

I'm flying India’s two biggest rivals: Air India and IndiGo in Economy Class to see if the full-service experience is actually worth the extra cash on the 3 hour hop from Mumbai to Dubai. But flying Air India right now is a total gamble. While I managed to snag an ex-Vistara A321neo with lie-flat seats in the front and better padding in the back, many other flights are still operated by older aircraft or new ones without seatback screens. IndiGo on the other hand, is basic but you know exactly what you’re getting every single time.
