"Tussen Diagnoses en Drugs – Hoe Mike Tóch Herstelde"

What if you receive diagnoses that pigeonhole you, but no one really listens to what's behind your behavior? (👉 Do you have a loved one who is addicted!? 💡 📌 https://www.vanverslavingnaarvrijheid...) In this powerful episode of From Addiction to Freedom, Rene speaks with Mike—a man with a turbulent childhood, a fighting heart, and a long road to recovery. Mike received multiple diagnoses at a young age, which made him feel different from everyone else. Vulnerable. And to mask that vulnerability, he found an outlet in aggression. When he got angry, he felt calm. But that calm was temporary—it led to exclusion, alienation, drug use, and ultimately a suicide attempt. After an overdose, Mike woke from a coma. His first thought: I have to fight. And that's what he did. In August 2007, he began his final treatment, where, for the first time, he was truly heard by therapists with lived experience. That's where his journey back to connection began—with himself, and with life. A raw, honest, and hopeful conversation about what it feels like to be stuck inside yourself, and what becomes possible when someone truly sees you. 💛Aggression, Drugs, Coma...towards recovery!
